The Sherwood State Bank was founded in 1945 by local business and community members who saw the need for an independent bank to serve families, businesses, and farmers in the area.

After 55 years of proudly serving the Sherwood community, Sherwood State Bank expanded into Defiance, Ohio, by opening its second full-service branch. This marked the Bank’s first major step in growing beyond its hometown roots.

Community members in Ridgeville Corners expressed the need for a local bank, and Sherwood State Bank responded by opening its third branch. This location reflected the Bank’s ongoing commitment to meeting the needs of the communities it serves.

Continued growth in Defiance led to the opening of a full-service facility in the heart of downtown. This branch strengthened the Bank’s presence in the area and provided greater convenience for local customers.

Expansion continued with the opening of a fourth full-service branch in Fayette, Ohio. This addition extended the Bank’s reach further into the region and reinforced its mission of offering community banking with a personal touch.

The Archbold Branch opened, representing a major milestone in our continued growth and community commitment.
